The official site of the New Zealand Wine and Grape Industry. Well worth a look if you would like more detailed information on New Zealand wines. It also includes comprehensive statistical information.


 New Zealand Wine Directory
In this ambitious project, John Bartlett is creating a comprehensive web directory intended to become a key wine resource and a living, growing source of links to online information, not only for New Zealand wine business owners, but also as a tool for the wine consumers of New Zealand and the world. An excellent site.


 Wine of the Week; a webzine for wine and food lovers
A weekly newsletter produced by Sue Courtney, a "New Zealand wine lover and educator". It includes reviews of New Zealand wines, restaurants, personalities and books as well as news of the New Zealand wine industry. This excellent site merits frequent return visits.


 Cuisine Wine
One of the best sites to find informed wine tasting reviews of over 2000 New Zealand wines and news about the New Zealand wine industry with profiles and links to more than 350 cellar doors open to the public. It includes a very useful Wine Finder where you can search wines by varietal, Best Buys, star rating, vintage and region. There are also recipes and wine and food match suggestions.


 WinesofNZ.com
This attractive and comprehensive site provides information and links to New Zealand's main wine producing regions and the best of its wines and wineries. Some useful tourist links and regional vintage guides are included.


 Geoff Kelly Wine Reviews
Independent wine reviews by a New Zealand wine consultant with an extensive history of judging and writing about wines. Geoff kelly has set out to review local and imported wines to one simple international standard, and report on them factually, objectively and, if possible, constructively. 


  bobcampbell.nz
Master of Wine, Bob Campbell, provides information on the courses that he runs along with an extensive list of links to other wine sites both in New Zealand and overseas. There are over 6000 of his authoritative wine reviews dating back to 2004. The reviews are regularly updated


  Wineshow
Links to New Zealand wine competition medal and trophy winners. Includes the Air New Zealand Wine Awards, Liquorland Top 100, the Royal Easter Wine Show, the New Zealand International Wine Show and the Bragato Wine Awards.


 Wine Jobs Online
An excellent and comprehensive site for those looking for wine industry jobs in New Zealand. Job seekers can view current wine job opportunities or place online advertisements and companies can advertise their vacancies. It is also possible to sign up for email alerts for jobs recently listed.

 


  Centre for Viticulture and Oenology, Lincoln University
Information about the research programmes on viticulture and winemaking in New Zealand. Research is complemented by the teaching programme, with the University offering both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Lincoln University, arguably the pre-eminent winemaking research and teaching institution in New Zealand, aims to develop and apply innovative processing, viticultural and business practices to the wine industry.


 Matakana Wine Trail
Information on the wines and wineries of Matakana a small town approximately one hours drive north of Auckland where premium wines have been produced for some time and where new vineyards are being developed. There is a summary of the wineries in the area along with their contact details, map and the opportunity to purchase wines online


 Waiheke Island of Wine
A detailed guide to the wineries and vineyards of Waiheke Island (35 minutes by ferry from Auckland). The site includes a map as well as tourist information, accommodation and restaurant options.


  Gisborne Wine
The Gisborne Winegrowers Societies' website provides excellent information on the Gisborne wine region, its history, wineries and news along with full text copies of its quarterly newsletter 'On the Vine.' There are also good descriptions of the grape varieties grown in the Gisborne area along with a map of the wineries.


  Hawkes Bay Wine
Here you will find a lot of useful background information on the wine growing sub-regions of Hawkes Bay as well as information on wine tours in the area. This is a well set out and attractive site.


 Martinborough Vineyards
Although only producing about 2% of New Zealand's total output the Martinborough wineries produce some excellent pinot noirs. The wineries are predominantly boutique in nature. Good information on the wineries, tasting opportunities, where to stay and local wine news.


 Wairarapa Wines
This site covers the history of winemaking and the wineries of this premium wine growing region. There is also a good wine trail map of the wineries and links to their web sites where they have them.


  Taste Nelson Wines
Information on wines and wineries in the Nelson Region. Quick links to the wineries as well as a map of the area. Nelson is also noted for its many excellent art and craft studios and many of these are included on this site.


 Wine Marlborough
The most comprehensive web site on the Marlborough wine industry, the premier wine producing area of New Zealand. It includes up-to-date news, vintage and statistical reports and information on forthcoming wine events such as the internationally acclaimed annual BMW Wine Marlborough Festival that is held in February each year.


 North Canterbury Wine Region
An excellent introductory overview of the wineries of North Canterbury including Waipara, Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. Brief information on most of the wineries is provided as well as news of forthcoming events and an outline of the area's geology and terroir. Some useful contact details information for Canterbury vineyards that don't have websites as well as an outline of the predominant grapes of the region and a location map of the wineries.

 


  Central Otago Winegrowers
The Central Otago Winegrowers Association is a collaborative association of grape growers and winemakers working together to share information and ideas on the issues that face the region. This comprehensive and well designed site provides information on the wineries, grouped together by sub-regions, employment opportunities and news items. 


  Fitz-Geralds Wine Auctions
New Zealand's premier wine auction site. Subscribers have access to a fully searchable auction catalogue and can place absentee bids online. It is also possible to purchase clearance lines directly.


  Master Match
Master Match is the idea of Josh Emett (Michelin Star chef) who has created a website where a range of award-winning New Zealand wines, from the likes of Villa Maria, Yealands and Whitehaven, are matched to dishes for the home cook. Emett has tasted them personally and created "the perfect recipe to match." The recipes will change seasonally, as will the wines. Emett also encourages readers to message him via Twitter or Facebook. 

 


  Corbans Nurseries
Corbans Nurseries is the oldest and most experienced viticulture company in New Zealand.  The company grows 25 phylloxera-resistant rootstocks, propagates innumerable varieties of scion wood and undertakes multiplication of new clonal imports. The end products are bench-grafted vines, yielding in excess of two million plants per annum, which are bundled, labelled and stored, ready to be distributed to wineries and growers nationally

The website of a Marlborough based wine consultancy company. Services include Site selection and evaluation, Vineyard planning and establishment, Independent evaluation of vineyard proposals, developments and vineyard management, Ongoing technical and practical advice and the general management of vineyards


 Vitis
Vitis specialises in the supply of high quality wine and olive oil equipment, consumables and products backed by engineering and consultancy services. Their focus is on introducing and supporting leading edge technologies to improve the production and quality of New Zealand wines and olive oils for both the domestic and export markets.


  Indevin Partners
Indevin is New Zealand's largest independent contract winemaking facility. Its modern winery in Marlborough provides both small and large-scale commercial producers with the infrastructure & systems required to create high quality wines without the establishment of their own winery.


 Bragato Research Institute
Information on the activities carried out by the purpose-built Marlborough Research Centre which provides scientific leadership, authorative information and innovative technological development for the grape and wine industry, both in Marlborough and throughout New Zealand. 


  Riversun Nurseries
A Gisborne company that supplies a range of certified grafted grape vines to vineyards.


 Wineworks
WineWorks is New Zealand's largest contract bottler offering a wide range of services from its two bottling and warehousing operations in Marlborough and Hawke's Bay. These services include bulk wine transport, bottling, warehousing and distribution.


 Lake Wine Services
Russell Lake is a consultant winemaker and viticulturist who specialises in the growing and production of cool climate winegrape varieties including Pinot Noir and Riesling.


  Vinote Cellar
This is a free wine cellaring software package that enables users to manage their wines, keep track of their bottle locations, best drink by dates, and wine tasting notes. Information is stored online so that the wine details can be accessed from anywhere. The software can be used to share and record tasting notes, store purchase information and drink dates and maintain an inventory of your wine cellar


 Bayleys Viticulture
Interested in buying a viticultural property? This site provides an extensive list of properties ranging from the sale of bare land with viticulture potential, the marketing of lifestyle properties with vineyards, to the sale of substantial grape land holdings and wineries.


  New Zealand Society for Viticulture and Oenology
This organisation was formed with the aim of promoting the dissemination of technical information in viticulture and oenology and related sciences for the benefits of the grape and wine industries of New Zealand. It is not aligned with any other industry organisation. One of its major focuses is on planning and running national conferences.  Information on these is available on the web site.


 New Zealand School of Wines and Spirits
Information about New Zealand's leading approved programme provider of the internationally recognised Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) courses. WSET is the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education and its courses are formal qualifications recognised throughout the world. Teaching is classroom based and delivered by approved tutors.


   YouTube Videos on New Zealand Wines
Links to several hundred videos relating in some way or other to the wine industry in New Zealand. 


  The Cellar Club
The website of a friendly and active winetasting group in Johnsonville, Wellington. Meetings are held monthly and the members include those who are keen to learn about wine and others who simply enjoy sharing good wine with good company. Information is included on upcoming events and tastings.


   Wineries on Social Networking Sites
Many wineries and wine appreciation clubs/societies are now using social networking sites as a means of publicising their products and activities. Some of the Facebook sites also contain photos and brief videos. The following is not intended to be comprehensive but a sample from Facebook and Twitter.
